When I tell you that every individual in the life is a complicated web woven with strands of experiences, challenges and, above all, lessons learned, you shouldn’t be surprised. These lessons, which are frequently the result of successes or adversities, mold our perspectives, influence our choices, and eventually define the trajectory of our lives. Furthermore, I am no different than most of you when it comes to bearing my own share of life’s burdens and drawing inspiration from the lessons learned.

In my mid-40s, I underwent several life changes that reshaped my foundation. From these experiences, I drew invaluable lessons that significantly changed my life. It was an inspiring realization, as I had previously been navigating through various challenges, feeling like I was falling short in many aspects. Recognizing what truly worked for me was nothing short of euphoric.

Many common obstacles that many people confront have come my way: a lifestyle that is out of step with my objectives, issues in maintaining personal relationships, trouble finding balance, and an ongoing sense of unease despite things seeming stable on the outside. Moreover, certain aspects of my life have added complexity to this journey, while high levels of stress have only compounded the challenges.

Though my life seemed to be on track, I often found myself searching for direction. However, as I approached the latter half of my 40s, a sense of clarity slowly began to emerge. It felt as though the pieces of my life were gradually falling into place, forming a cohesive picture.

Here are some insights from my personal journey of growth:

1.  I am simply my best friend. I learned to appreciate more what I do and prioritize ‘me time’. That elevated my self-care path to new levels of freedom and empowerment. While I still cherish time with family and close friends, solitude has become a cherished experience. It has allowed me to engage in activities I love, which has been the most enjoyable part of it.

2.   I take excellent care of myself. Taking meticulous care of myself—body, mind, and soul—brings me immense satisfaction and happiness. I nourish myself with healthy foods, positive thoughts, and a supportive environment, fostering overall well-being.

3.   I connect more with my creator. Strengthening my connection with my creator has been transformative. By opening my heart to receive guidance and understanding my path, I’ve found a deeper sense of purpose in life.

4.   I became very flexible with my energy. Being flexible with my energy, engaging with others while ensuring they don’t drain me put me at ease. I’ve become less tolerant of unproductive interactions, limiting stressors by minimizing negative influences. Setting clear boundaries has become crucial, and I’m unafraid to walk away when they’re disregarded.

5.   I tap into my innate gifts. By doing so, I strive to evolve into the best version of myself. It’s time to share these talents with the world, inspiring others to believe in themselves. Recognizing my capacity to impact others’ lives motivates me to make a difference, one step at a time.

As we grow, I like to believe that we learn to transcend the multitude of layers of fortitude as we strive to live a fulfilling life beyond our fears. Life is a gift to experience and to share!
